In 2009, SUGS (Scottish Universities Golfing Society) presented MCLGA with a decanter to celebrate our centenary. The MCLGA Tri-Am was first played in 2009 as one of our centenary events/celebrations. It is played biennially. The winning team now win the Trophy which incorporates the SUGS decanter – the MCLGA Tri-Am Scottish Universities Golfing Society (SUGS) Decanter.
As part of the 2023 Financial Review the Committee approved an annual fun fundraising event, which replaced both the Biennial Tri-Am and 9 Hole Competition and has the specific aim of raising funds towards caddy costs incurred at the Jamboree, and County Finals.
